In January 2002 Sylwia was knocked down by a truck during a school trip. As a result she sustained very serious injuries which rendered her disabled. She now requires comprehensive and intensive treatment and rehabilitation as well as constant care of her parents.

The necessary treatment in a specialised medical centre is too expensive for the family of five because a stay in such a centre costs 12.900 zł.
